The Fire

The Fire

The roaring
The flames lapping at every edge of lumber
The sight of the softly glowing embers floating off into the clear night sky was one to behold
The heat blanketing itself around my skin while the other half of me freezes from the cool air grabbing at my back
The flames are blinding against the dark blue sky
My eyes ache but all I can do is stare, it's all everyone can do
The whole crowd gathered, watching
The blue, purple, red, yellow
Every colour, it's all there.
Unfortunately my home isn't, not anymore.
It's all gone.
