The Fish Of The Sea

The Fish Of The Sea

Jesus pointed to the starboard side where the fish
were in abundance, in the Bay of Tiberius for all of us;
so they were allowed to be eaten, not just a sport,
five thousand were fed, after easily being nicely caught.

It was natural selection, survival of the fittest, Darwin
said because the concept of a divine power was unthinkable;
he had no explanation as to where first cell came from,
strangely, look around you - an accident was also untenable.

Let's face it, the origin of our creation is really beyond
our mindset and ironically may have been intended to be so;
like clutching at straws which seem to forever float away,
it's about time that we all behaved ourselves I would say.

Those fish cast their silvery eyes heavenwards as they came up
for breath - they knew that there would be a life after death.
