Poem -

The game of cards

The game of cards
They played the game every night,
One card, two card, three,
You and them together,
No one else to be seen,
They sat on the floor,
With the cards in their hands,
But then they started looking at you,
With a certain type of glance,
Maybe They’re not worth it,
Maybe your just blind,
The person who wants to give you the world,
Is crying, dying inside,
They see your in love with someone,
Someone who isnt them,
It causes pain and shatters hearts that cannot mend again,
You left them sitting soulless,
With No cards, no looks , no calls,
You watched them fall and bleed out,
But you did not care at all,
They’re broken, lost and lonely,
And all you did was watch,
A bystander like them all,
The sheep that was really a fox,
You watched them love you,
And you loved them too,
But your love didn’t match,
It was a hopeless game of cards that could never end with snap,
Then you found your person,
The card that matched the queen,
You were so happy and glad,
But the other was then left unseen,
The loser of the game,
 sat on the floor Watching,
While the new player sat in their space and began to start unboxing,
The new deck of cards that were only meant for them,
The deck that matched the queen,
The guy that loved the girl,
But what about the one who’s left unseen?
the loser had to get up and leave straight away,
Because of the fact they knew the real loser was still sitting playing the game.
