The Girl In The Mirror
The girl in the mirror staring back at me and wonder what went wrong. She sees a woman torn and tired. Confused and lost, empty and helpless. Bitter and full of pride.Ā
The girl in the mirror staring back at me and wonder will the pain ever go away, will she finally realize that the help she so desperately seeks is not to be found in this world?Ā
The girl in the mirror staring back at me and she can relate. Sorrow is not something we move past, but there is a time for loss and another time for healing. Sheās questioning how to wake me up when my faith has been asleep for too long.Ā
The girl in the mirror staring back at me trying to communicate. She wants to heal, she wants changes and dream of better days. I see in her eyes that she tells me that Iām responsible for my own happiness and that she loves me enough to stand by me through thick and thin. Fight for me when I donāt have anything more to give.Ā
The girl in the mirror staring back at me is aware of the bad habits and past patterns, the temporary escape and the temporary satisfaction, she is also aware of the promises of God. She turns to me and asks if Iāll be brave enough to trust him? If Iāll be brave enough to take a leap of faith and walk on water.Ā
The girl in the mirror staring at my reflection knows sheās weak, so she does the only thing she knows how to do. She closes her eyes, lift her hands and choose to praise him in the storm. She choose to trust him despite her circumstances and she falls to her knees saying āI give up, Jesus take the wheelā
She chose to distance herself from the world and regain her inner self. She chose to let him build her up again to a better version and form a new identity in her. Heās spoken words gave identity to what was meaningless. Heās spoken word brought peace and tranquility to what was chaotic. Heās spoken words brought light into what was dark. Heās spoken words gave structure to what had no structure, set boundaries that should never been crossed and brought life to what was lifeless. Heās spoken words gave authority and power. He said let it be.. in me!Ā
The girl in the mirror feels relief, she knows the journey just begun but canāt help to feel excited and hopeful for the future. I turned to my reflection and smiled. It looks like the devil couldnāt hurt me anymore. Whatever comes my way the Christ in me is stronger than every giants I may face.
The girl in the mirror now knows her worth, itās time to fight for what she believes in, give the past to God and proclaim whatās rightfully hers.Ā Ā She is a warrior, a child of God and a royal princess. Itās time to call the angles down, put on the full armor of God and go to war. No weapon formed against me shall prosper. Iām standing in the victory of Him who overcame everythingĀ
The girl in the mirror knows he is mighty enough to finish what he started, He is mighty enough to rise me from the ashes and use my scars and testimony for others to see. She knows the beauty comes within and fell in love again with the one who created her. The girl in the mirror promised herself that her heart should be so lost in God that the one who wanted her, had to seek Him in order to find her. She decided to no longer give her heart toĀ Ā someone who doesnāt see her worth and she wouldnāt be settling for less than she deserves
