The Girl in the window four floors up

The Girl in the window four floors up

I study every evening
in the library
I’m dis-
tracted by her smile.

I see her through the window
sometimes
writing messages
mostly
we communicate with hand gestures.

I haven’t heard her voice
yet
I imagine it sounds
like wind-chimes on a summer evening.

She eats nectarines
obliviously
she ignores my obsession with her
Auburn hair.

One day we will meet.
She will think it is
for the first time
my love is eternal.

Hello Ellie! what a lovely piece I really enjoyed this. You used some simple but very effective imagery which is really skillful. Nice job!
