The Glass Slipper

The Glass Slipper

A King has found his perfect mate, the Queen he’d always sought;

One that could match his brilliant wit, from lessons long past taught!

Also with a heart of gold, that his own can truly love;

With allegiance to her dearest Lord, also, the one up above!

The King has had some rough Crusades, his body battle scarred;

But this Queen he found says she will heal his wounds, no task for her too hard!

The final test he proffered her, was the “slipper made of pure glass”;

He tried it on her nervously; with flying colors did she pass!

So this King realized she was the one, to sit with him on his throne;

And he opened up his life to her, never ‘gain to be ‘lone!

She writes odes to him of her deepest love, she has opened up her soul;

And our King knows of her treasures true, and of her, he doth extol!

Their subjects all see the love that they share, and know this union will last;

They bow down as their heroes ascend to their thrones; all problems are now in the past!

Together they ever shall rule the world, and eliminate all of its' strife;

Together they share omnipotence, that will last throughout both their lives!
