The golden chrysalis

The golden chrysalis

Dangling precariously from a fungus on a tree
A strangely formed chrysalis
Does fascinate me

This little odd pouch
 Is golden to my eye
I watch in amazement
It is changing by and by

Staring at this pupae
Wondering
What an earth it could be
I was stood in awe at this sight I did see

Out emerged a litte creature
I couldn’t believe my eye
Perched ontop of its pouch
Was a beautiful butterfly

A multi coloured insect
With long translucent wings
Such a delicate array
Oh What pretty little things

Whilst I stood very still
Not willing it to go
It fluttered its tiny wings
I said to it “Hello”

Then spreading out its wings
In a little flapping flight
It lifted off into the air
A unique angelic sight

This metamorphosis was
So special to see
It was truly a magical
Delight for me
