The good old days šŸ’•

The good old days šŸ’•

As my maturity manifests I wander back in my mind

To the good old days of childhood that my memory can find..

Those endless hours at school, sat chatting in the class

Oh if I had only tried harder but then I was just a young lass..

Tho I didnā€™t dislike school, English language was my bestĀ

Along with art and music.. I wasnā€™t that bothered about the rest..

I guess l muddled on through, without a care in the world

Then how was I to know what destiny would unfurled..

Looking back I realise that I talked far too much

I had alot of chums so we nattered as such..

Could I have been a scientist ?well probably not

But then again I wasnā€™t ignorant when I was put on the spot..Ā

Just above averave in my exams at school

Tho in English language I would say I was nobodyā€™s fool..

So perhapā€™s I could have become a teacher learning kids the A..B..Cā€™s

Or giving lessons on Mother nature about the birds and bees..

Alas I didnā€™t go to college to further my education

But back in those days of old no one had heard of graduation..Ā

Well not where I lived in my little home town

Graduation meant a hill going up and down..

Well after serving stints as a waitress in our local cafes and hotels

I took a job at sixteen in Pringleā€™s factory making knitwear that sells..Ā

Those good old days were great, I would not change a single thing

Ā As I look to this future wondering what my fate will bring..

Being Me

Love this!Ā  I used to like art and English Language and creative writing at school. I detested science classes unless itcwas learning about Geology (loved that), I found French impossible and I absolutely loathed maths! Oh and P.E was not good unless it was running ... I could run. I was always being told off for talking too much in class too šŸ¤£Ā  I can really relate to this poem āš˜x
