The Good Old Days - New

The Good Old Days - New

If I knew then what I know now, maybe
I would have got things in the right place,
but perhaps it was more fun the way it was,
now with new language I'm saying 'simply because.'

I met Elvis who said: 'You guys in 2020 have suspicious minds,'
I said: 'What mean?' He said: 'You were always on my mind.'
He died too young, missed the pandemic, word 'systemic,'
must be wowing them in heaven with Jacko and Hendrix.

I was away for many years - mother said: 'You missed family,'
thank God for that, there was one asshole I didn't want to see;
heaven must be crowded or hell, 'Oh no, not you again,'
looked like all the nasties were on the same goddamn train.

God said: 'I gave you everything and you did silly mystery,
I'll keep zending you back until you've leaned humility.
