The Great Divide

Shall I reach across this silken chasm,
this space between our dueling dreams.
This no man's land that forms the sides
of our empty nights' great divide.

This drifting rift made ours with time:
with banal days swapped for hours sublime.

A subliminal radio silence refined,
though on the surface all seems to be fine.

And maybe it is, but I can never know.
For on my side, I lie alone.
And you on yours...my last frontier.
The hallowed grounds of my yesteryear.

Beautifully sad. I felt this described grief and existing without them. Seeing them only in dreams and our minds eye. Being worlds apart. A truly wonderfully write on the loneliness loss brings as we try and understand that great divide
