THE HORRORS OF WAR

Today let's not forget our soldiers brave
Most of them finished up in an early grave 
They fought on land and they fought on sea
They fought for freedom for you and for me

Many poems have been written about the horrors of war 
Some are very poignant that is for sure 
My poem is quite simple I want all wars to cease
To live in a land where people live in peace

How can killing another person be right ?
I can't understand it try as I might 
So remember all the soldiers who fought for your nation 
They should be treated with respect, dignity and admiration
