"The Hour Glass"

Years of my life missing, flushed down the drain,
Flooded with drugs, to drown out the pain.
I was strangled by sorrow, overtaken by grief,
Addiction came in, and stole my life like a thief.
I gave up hope, and let the demons take over,
I didn't want to spend, a single day sober.
I watch wasted time, flow through the hour glass,
Lonely and forsaken, but this too shall pass.
I fight for the strength, to battle the sorrow,
And come home to you, and a better tomorrow.
Bring us back together, get our lives on track,
Leave the bullshit behind, get the good times back.
I'm tired of pain, that could fill up an ocean,
And existing in life, just going through motions.
So let's take our new life slow, because it's not a race,
The hour glass is running out, there's no time to waste.
