The humble stone

The humble stone

The noble stone;
Amusing,In its own.
Protecting in silence.
Carved into throne.

Anchored and assumed,
Exploited in ways
It does not know.
Taken for, but bestowed.

Need no quenching, norΒ
replenishing for thirst.
Offers no oil, water,
or blood from its girth.

Tho subtract The stone
From our humble abode.
We shall be left defenceless,
vulnerableΒ and alone.
