The impact

Essence of a mother

The impact

A hellish flame, hot and bright
Inspiring with it's heat and might
With a firing spirit at it's core
Searing and screaming for more, like some sort of attention seeking whore
Scorching the earth with just a simple touch
Turning what's left into ashes, a final sizzling kiss
Fallen pieces of ember, shining like they're falling stars
Exploding whenever they reach the ground
A raging inferno, lightening up the world like a candle
Like a blazing sun, boiling up skin and dancing on it's own
Nothing to fear, because the warmth doesn't burn the heart
Surrounding you, yet leaving you alone
Being with you from the beginning of time, extinguishing itself as a part of unleashing it's untamed fury
Getting a head start in order to become a fire once again
Creating the dream of eternity for you, while reality feels more like... it's the end of the world
Blank, cold and sad as it's a missed opportunity of it to be an eternal one..an eternal flame
But by the minute hurting like a ray of sunshine pointed at your heart
The impact and aftermath tearing you apart... as darkness wins
Dissolving and destroying the last remaining paths to ever having this feelings back
Feelings of protection and happiness within all of the madness.
All gone up like smoke...

No it's not easy indeed...
Me and my mom had a love/hate relationship.
She commited suicide at 48 years old after a 15 year battle with drugs and alcohol addiction.
There was a time she was very good to me and also a long time she wasn't there for me, but now she isn't here anymore and that stings alot.
Because now I've my own family and she can never be a part of that.

The poem is about what she was to me (like a fire) and the effect it had on me.

Mothers are supposed to nurture and to love. This poem is way to sad for me. But this is not about me, it's about someone's mother and I feel sorry for the
good souls who didn't received the love & care deserved by every child.
This child now must forgive and heal. And love himself or herself.
Self love is beautiful and healing.
