THE KING'S HANDKERCHIEF

I will be kept in the King's pocket if I'm required
Made of the finest silk and hope to be admired
White will be my colour I'll be ironed and pressed
If I'm used you will notice I wear the King's crest

I will dab the King's eyes should a tear form
Wipe his furrowed brow in case he gets warm
Be on hand if the Royal nose starts to run
With all these uses there will be no time for fun

I'm the King's handkerchief or hanky for short
Ready on hand to offer the King my support
I was there for his mother when Phillip died
Remember it well for she cried and cried
