In amidst the land of loneliness upon the calling of the night
As one is lying wide awake from failing to win that fight
When the sombernous of darkness is an awful sight
And anxiety has hit the roof betwixt that up a height..

One is all alone within a weariness
Tossing and turning tired out between some cotton sheets caress
Feeling so frustrated with nothing but stress
If only you could fall asleep well wouldn’t that be a bless..

Yet those ticks of time tock on as you glance at the clock
As your mind goes into overdrive running amok
But nothing seems to make any sense upon a mental block
It’s just you and the sandman in a world of poppycock...
