Poem -

THE LAST GASP

Behind dead pupils
I can see your gaze
Looking so sorrowful I cried inside
As you sat at my bedside

Tubes in my mouth and nose
No blinks, motionless
An accident victim.. comatose

Fainted sounds I hear
Like a distant drum
Humming in my ear

At times, it sounds like
A stadium of people cheering
Other times, jeering

As I lay there without emotions
Straddling the fence
Between earths gravity
And the Twilight zone

I am all alone, sailing, drifting, falling
Endlessly..
No one else but me in this new reality

A reality without sound, no faces or life form
I am comatose drowning in my own blood
Read my tears.. and pull the plug.

Wilford Barker.

Wow! Really powerful stuff Wilford. Your words paint a vivid picture in the minds eye.
An accident victim comatosed and in limbo.

The last line really packs a punch. Begging for mercy. Is it written from experience? Because you descriptions are so good. Pinned.

Very much enjoyed  - Syd

Hi Syd.
This is not from my experience Thank God..
or anyone that I know..
just laying here and thinking what an experience like that might be.
A sad one of course, for the less fortunate.
I did one a while back about waking up from one.
But thanks for your support.
