THE LAST MEAL
On death row he was given one last requestÂ
What meal would he like to consume and digest
He thought long and hard and came to a solutionÂ
Didn't matter to him if it affected his constitutionÂ
His request to the guard was chicken and fries
Followed up with two home cooked apple pies
His last meal was brought to him just before nine
Cooked to perfection and tasted really fine
The prisoner knew when his meal was completeÂ
Time to get ready and will have shackles on his feet
Several guards escorted him to the lethal chair
His final resting place and would end up dying there
Just after ten this prisoner was no longer here
His neighbourhood now would have nothing to fear
A sad story I know but I ask you please don't cry
Remember him as the man who ate chicken and pie
