Poem -

The last sinner

The last sinner

There in the hospital

At the mercy of science

Waiting for a grave

In the ground

Yet Lord; I am not ready

This body is fighting alive

And this mind is thoughtful

Even if senile

I who lie here

Looking into the ceilings of

A hospital

Into the eyes of a doctor

Into my own soul

I say, save me one more time

Save me Lord

Keep me in your arms

For my children

And my beloved wife

Hold me here upon this earth

Until death do we part

I apologise for the sin

And I cry for what has been

But save me Lord

Do not place me in my grave

This earth has not killed

The last sinner

I wish to remain

A man upon this earth

Save me Lord, save me
