THE LAST STAR

THE LAST STAR

There were billions of stars
Twinkling in the night's sky
The night we met

What a night to remember
You standing among
Those astronomical objects
As you took away my breath

Though they sparkled and glitter
Like diamonds in the sky
It was the sapphire in your eyes
By which I was hypnotized

I watched them twinkled
I watched them fall
They clustered together
Dancing like angles
At a heavenly ball

But with all their majesty
And mystical dance
None can be compared
To your beautiful and elegance

For you, I'll face the fire
Endure the wrath of the gods
And stand by your side
Until the last star fall.

Wilford Barker.
