THE LAST STAR

There were billions of stars
Twinkling in the night's skyÂ
The night we metÂ
What a night to rememberÂ
You standing amongÂ
Those astronomical objectsÂ
As you took away my breathÂ
Though they sparkled and glitter
Like diamonds in the skyÂ
It was the sapphire in your eyesÂ
By which I was hypnotized
I watched them twinkledÂ
I watched them fall
They clustered togetherÂ
Dancing like anglesÂ
At a heavenly ball
But with all their majesty
And mystical dance
None can be comparedÂ
To your beautiful and eleganceÂ
For you, I'll face the fire
Endure the wrath of the gods
And stand by your sideÂ
Until the last star fall.
