The Left

The Left

I began walking at the age of one
And I seemed to be drawn to the left when I should have turned right
I knew I was different from other children, playing and staying on the right side of the road
Why they chose that side, I never knew and didn't care
I thought of ways to walk to the right but couldn't because I believed a misfortune would befall me
So I stayed on the left and found comfort
And I was not hurt
Because I am different
The right are not always right,
they let their blindness lead them that way
That was my thinking and logic
But now I want to be on the right side of the road
Because the left has only failed me
