‘The little boy in red’

‘The little boy in red’

Doesn’t a pretty picture say it all ?
‘The little boy in red’
As he stares out at the great ocean
he must feel so small
But he is awe-inspired at the shininess of the salty sea
I bet that sheer expanse of it all makes him want to run free

There he stands bare footed on the beach
His skin is sunkissed like a ripened peach
I wonder if the silky sand is tickling his toes and will the saline seawater smell be engulfing his tiny nose
I do not know this small child but I feel as if I should
His child-like innocence brightens my mood

I wish I was there watching him playing building sand castles on the seashore as the breaking waves are swaying
Yet if I look long enough at his image and the colours that I see
Oh how yon bountiful beauty beckons me
Doesn’t a pretty picture say it all ?
A mahoosive mighty ocean and a little lad so small
