The lonely lighthouse đź’™

The lonely lighthouse đź’™

There is a bright, blinking beacon, from a lonely lighthouse beaming at me

Steadfast on those rugged rocks, surrounded by sea

Where Cormorants and  Arctic Terns take to the skies

Amongst my reveries of those lovely lullaby’s

Where once again, my old Papa is the captain of his fishing boat

Fighting against all odds and those wild waves to keep the woods afloat

But my Dad is a sound skipper with all of his days, surfing that mighty ocean

Where’re the shoals of fish would swim, my Father foraged them with devotion

Awww I can hear the crew calling out cheerfully, to my dear old Dad

“Jack that net is full” as he is peeping out of his wheelhouse, looking so glad

Suddenly I wake up with a contented smile upon my face

Coz I saw my dear departed Daddy, back in his old happy place

Out on that awesome ocean where that lonely lighthouse shines out at sea

Holding my happenstances of such happy times, amidst my memory…

Jill it is a Greg says it is awesome to read and for you to share clearly fondant memories of times gone and of your sea-faring father.
A captain no less and he seems a good man and father as well.
Heartfelt writing Jill and always good to read and so smoothly to be carried away and dream of recent yesteryears.
Beautifully done and I wish you well and Cosmo's own respected nautical poetess of the seven seas.
Stay safe Jill.đź’•
