~ The Lonely Mile ~
{resistance is fear}
As I walked the lonely mile
My salty mask crossed the human line
A wilting whisper
In the back of my mind,
"Resistance is fear"...
My mind, battling itself,
Placed my hurt, my pain, upon a shelf
'tis foolish to fear those ties to the spiritual
Words that seemed to slake my burning fears
And so, as I floated along the lonely mile
The shadows reached out, and once again
"Resistance is fear",
And so
The gods themselves, then, shone a light
On the fire that burns, incessantly,
The ultimate knowing,
The truth, that bleeds, into the soul
Making us the same
Of the same time, the same space
For, when I compare, the me to thee
How sweet and fair,
The light burns in me...
Now, as I bathe in the lonely mile
My salty mask, blurs, those most human lines
Where I find myself
In everything I see,
And then,
I pause to myself,
And smile to myself,
Knowingly....

Hello Tony :)
When I read this, it speaks to me of a journey of self discovery. That lonely mile which forces deep reflection on one's self. The power to instinctively recognise signs and feelings. For on this mile I felt a moment where an awakening occurred. Recognising how we and all around us are made of energy. That we all are the same, coming from the same source. Then that last moment in your final stanza
"Now, as I bathe in the lonely mile
My salty mask, blurs, those most human lines
Where I find myself
In everything I see,
And then,
I pause to myself,
And smile to myself,
Knowingly...."
For me in this moment, there is a realisation that you are not alone. But part of a bigger picture. The lonely mile suddenly doesn't feel so empty. That salty mask felt a bit bitter to me. But it had softened by the end
Just my take :)
