The Longest Year

Our precious Angel Cody, one year ago today;
Was the one you had to leave us, the one you sailed away!
We held you very closely, as you took your final breath;
Your suffering was over, so peaceful in your death!

You floated up to Heaven, to join your dear Nico;
Who had left us on a Winters night, two and a half years ago!
His parting ripped our hearts out, but we still had our baby Codes;
To ease our pain and suffering, to Bless our sweet abode!

The three of us became inseparable, we took you everywhere we went;
For we knew that you were mourning also, how much dear Nico to you meant!
Slowly we began to heal, his spirit in all our hearts;
But Mommy and I were terrified, of the day you too would part!
.
Then for two years and almost five months, you brought our Souls such Joy;
Until that dreadful morning one year ago, when we lost our baby boy!
Mommy and Daddy cry daily, as we pray beside your shrine;
That holds the ashes of our two Soulmates, for whom we will ever pine!
