The Magic Flute

Tamino looks angel-like as he plays
His magic flute. O its soothing sounds tame
The animals, and turn sorrow, into
Teeming ecstasy! See how dream- like blues
And greens swirl around the great maestro’s glee.
Note how softly glowing yellows and reds
Lighten up the forest floor that some dread.
Melodious music ebbs and flows, and frees
The aroused creatures, from their hardened ways:
Which are darkened by night, hidden from day.
O this music is like the sun’s golden rays!
It calls all on to further joyful play.
