The majestic Irish hawk

The majestic Irish hawk

This righteous river from the eye of the hawk

Following the path into sunlight's face

Thy beauty stares upon your loving grace

Down by the stone of County Cork

~

In a pretty frock you were mine to greet

Sitting in an armchair as her Highness would

With these golden locks certainly love could

A heart in kind woken to meet

Port Cobh is where we met one starry night

In this, the Rebel County, where we were born

My beautiful Irish bride from my heart torn

By the War of the Roses that dimmed the light

Mercy, mercy, can thee be heard

These lovers that fly like the Irish bird
