The majestic Irish hawk

The majestic Irish hawk

This righteous river from the eye of the hawkย

Following the path into sunlight's faceย

Thy beauty stares upon your loving graceย

Down by the stone of County Cork

~

In a pretty frock you were mine to greet

Sitting in an armchair as her Highness would

With these golden locks certainly love could

A heart in kind woken to meetย

~ย

Port Cobh is where we met one starry night

In this, the Rebel County, where we were bornย

My beautiful Irish bride from my heart tornย

By the War of the Roses that dimmed the lightย

~ย

Mercy, mercy, can thee be heardย

These lovers that fly like the Irish birdย
