Poem -

The man in the cardboard box

The man in the cardboard box

We shall all die

The weak and the strong

The poor and those who do not belong

The rich in their towers

The honest and the liars

Whatever age, whatever background

Whether you make a little or a lot of sound,

From a mouse to an elephant

From a louse to a giant

We shall all die

In the night as the moon passes over

In the day when the sun is

on your brother

Your sister, your mother

The neighbour, the greengrocer,

The entrepreneur

And the man in the cardboard box

In his feet with no socks

We shall all die

Amidst the dying

In the breathing and the sighing

In the emphysema of life, trying

And the torture of death

From property to wealth

From sin to stealth

The long walk home

In the city streets under the lamp

Whether a goth, a man,

The child or the tramp

We should all die

Die, die die

In this last breath

When it felt like death

When you ran across greenfield

In your final test

Under stars that explode

And worlds that implode

Before the mother, the

Father,

In the fields and on the rocks

Across the oceans and the paddocks

We shall die

Die, die

Amidst the ghosts

Of your self;

In your poverty and your wealth

From presidents to the man under the bridge

From residents old and young,

In the ditch

No one should escape

No one shall escape

From the end for

We shall all die

Die, die

We the living

In the end of the giving

The forgiving

We shall all

In the tear of an eye,

I, you

We shall all die

This day, this eve

This grave, in this sleeve

In this beard, this box

This life, this rock

Upon this rock

We shall all die

Die, die

Die

Hello Jai...

The stories of how they got there...

More and more everyday...

The domino effect could begin with a lay off or...

Complete loss of a job...

Can't pay the rent or mortgage...

Domestic might put you there...

Several different reasons how a box becomes a home...

Regardless, it always seems easier to go down...

Then to go up?

Down, up, down again?

Great write!

Thank you for sharing...

Hugs...

Thank you; the story is the journey,

as selfishness must come to an end

allowing new life; God brings salvation

and new life; new beginnings,

appreciated!

Luv from Jai:)
