THE MAN UPSTAIRS

THE MAN UPSTAIRS

I hear him padding around without a sound,
although don't know what you're doing I've found;
aren't our different worlds strange it would seem;
but invisiible when there are boards in between.

I imagine he views me through a spyhole,
my concepts run riot but I know it's hyperbole;
once I was up above, seeing them making love,
there was no need to look when push came to shove.

You can see it all, smokin,' drinkin,' sexual activity,
mind your own business, each of us have mystery;
would you like my world or would I like yours?
you might change your mind if seen thro' open doors.

But don't forget, I hear but you don't know how I'm feeling,
because one mans floor is just another man's ceiling.
