The man who chose The garden over the firmaments
(A poem for Shirley Harrison)

Seeing a blossom on a tree
Through the rail of the man's fence
He imagined what he saw was a
Woman in a dress.
This he decided was The garden.
A young man who thought
His words weren't meant for lying.
He wrote this down,
For the man's mind had found that
Even though from the firmaments he came
This place he'd call home.
Even Death became a friend.
You'll understand.
And the feeling got the better of him.
Even love was The apple
His heart would be buried in the ground for.
Even love was a sin.

Lol it's the night time here
This so wonderful
Seeing a blossom on a tree
Through the rail of the man's fence
He imagined what he saw was a
Woman in a dress.
Your imagery flawless
Back then, I didn't won't to ruin the illusion, but 'fence' was originally scratched in my notebook as 'rail'. Simply because I have a rail, instead of a fence.
Hello R... for me this reads like a spark of light found in the darkness... maybe one a soul imagined never existed. The fact it is inspired by our very own lovely Shirley makes it all the more special. Beautiful writing and sentiment. Also i read the comment ...'even death needs a friend' and your use of it here is perfect Hugs x
That was really great, Rory, you’re a very talented writer! Loved it! M.
Cheers, hey
