"THE MAN WITH THE CHILD IN HIS EYES"

Was it all just make believe?
did their love really exist
She had given her all to him held back
on nothing she didnt resist
All the beautiful times together
remembered, and all etched in her mind
Holding hands kissing and cuddling
making love, their hearts entwined
But there was something a feeling
or maybe call it, a woman`s intuition
That he did not seem all that he was
at times, like an actor giving an audition
sometimes she chastised herself for not
believing in him, not giving him her trust
But passed relationships had taught her lessons
and what were they now, just dust
To be hurt once more she knew she could not endure
this time giving her love to a man she had to be sure
So one night she decided to follow him
on a night they were to spend apart
Anxious in the knowledge she could
once more end up with a broken heart
She followed him to a railway station
and there he sat waiting for a train
who was he waiting for? so many scenario`s
she played out in her brain
A train arrived and his eyes scanned the
crowd of people who was he to meet?
and all of a sudden he was running towards
a little girl of about four, and so sweet
Behind her was a beautiful woman
the child`s mother she had to be
But he did not notice her he just held out
his arms for the child, as she screamed daddy
why did he not tell her, did he think
she could not love him for having a child?
And so she walked over to them his face shocked
but with tears in her eyes she smiled
He said i am so sorry i did`nt tell you
but i thought telling you would be our end
Because of insecurities from your past
i just wanted to heal you and mend
Her heart overflowed with love
it did`nt matter to her these lies
For he was just a man who hid
the love of child in his eyes
She looked at him and said i love you
knowing his love for her was true
And as she took the child`s hand in hers,
she knew she would love him all her life through
