The Marah Chronicles (I)

The water of the Master wasn't just any water

It was Zoe

I approached like a trooper of Gidean

Wary of my enemies,

Like a tiger at the swamp

Watching out for the swing of a croc's armor

On guard against an elephant gone rogue

I bent down and my dry tongue would hardly cusp the surface

Undernourished sinues, brittle bones and shrunken stomach draining all my remaining energy

So weak I collapsed into it

I would have drowned

But the shockwave rippled supersonic through every atom

And then I felt it

It was as if I had never had a heart before

The water of the Master wasn't just any water

It was Life
