The never ending fight

Feeling tired of keeping a smile
Forever painted on my face
Feeling tired of always fighting
For support, love, some space

I've spent all of my life feeling tired
Battling just to "get by"
But I have to keep putting that smile on
I feel like I'm living a lie

I'm not asking you to understand this
I don't really get it myself
I just want you to hold my hand
In this ongoing fight with my health

I'm the one who they all think is strong
Happy, full of life, always there
You don't know the fight I'm always fighting 
And most of you don't really care

Even my own body is against me
Never mind my war against the world
So while you all see a warrior
I see a weak, broken girl.

But there's a reason I'll always keep fighting 
A reason to never give in
I have to keep pretending I'm that warrior
This life, this illness can't win

However easy it would be to do so
I won't give in, I won't quit
I've got these people who will always rely on me
And love me each and every bit

Nothing in life should be easy
But it shouldn't really be this tough
Nothing worth having will be simple
So i shall fight til the good comes from the rough
