The Neverending Nightmare
Every day I still can see you, on that most horrid one;
In early dawn I laid beside you, your final countdown had begun!
I stroked your little body, your bones were sticking out;
I kissed you for two hours, “I Love You”, silently did I shout!
.
As the sun rose came the darkness, that soon would us enshroud;
This morning would bring such sadness, and surround our souls with clouds!
For you would go to sleep soon, ne’er again to share our love;
We watched you take your last breath, and float to stars above!
.
That fateful Saturday morning, was exactly eight weeks ago;
But to me it seems like yesterday, as my teardrops ever flow!
Your photos and your memories, are all that we have left;
But I needed you beside me, to not forever be bereft!
.
The hours pass by so slowly, each one my heart e’er weeps;
My Cody has now left me, in Heaven now he sleeps!
I pray for you and Nico, to dwell in Paradise;
And some day endless nightmares, will no longer need suffice!
.
.
These wounds do not heal
My heart and soul ever bleed
Gushing with sadness

Hi Linda and Larry,
it's such a terrible shame when you lose a pet, at they become part of your family. I hope you two are beginning to heal. Thinking of you both

Our Dear Lorna,
Cody was our nexus to Nico, and his passing has been devastating. I think we were both in denial about his condition, because we were totally blindsided by his sudden loss. The horror of having to make that terrible decision, plagues us every day. With each others love to assuage our pain, we will heal, but it will be a long process. Thank you so much for your lovely thoughts.
All our love,
Linda and Larry xxx
Hello Larry my old friend, I've been off the scene for a while
I'm back for a bit now after a period of writers block with some new stuff.
glad to see you still writing with another lovely tribute.
God Bless
John
My Dear Friend John,
I've been out of the loop for a while too, only writing occasionally. I've just posted a new poem which will explain it all. Nice to hear from you again.
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
