The oldest tree in the world 🌳

The oldest tree in the world 🌳

Older than Methuselah
Wiser with age
This ancient old tree stands like a Lion in his cage
Withered from weather beaten
Gnarled and knurled
Entwined with entanglement

Twisted and curled
The Great Basin Bristlecone Pine
Existing eternally as a Californian shrine
A mythical monster five thousand years old
Silhouetting the skyline, robust and bold
Such a spectacular specimen outliving everything in sight
As his shadow follows celestial stars in the middle of the night
Whilst this bended boughed beauty is the oldest tree in history
It surely is a genuine natural example of Mother natures marvellous mystery…

That is fascinating.  So glad you wrote a wonderful poem about this tree.  Funny how nature inspires us so much.  My last poem was about 2 trees, too.
