The One
 
 
You carry the cross that is my shame
In the darkness you whisper my name
 
You give me strength when I am weak
You paint me dreams when I sleep
 
You are my savior you are the one
You are my peace under the setting sun
 
Like a majestic eagle just taking flight
Wrap your wings around my darkest night
 
You are forever and always in my prayers
I feel your spirit and know your there
 
Your words of truth gently cross my lips
I won’t go down like a sinking battleship
 
When the bitter north winds begin to blow
Your holy love will keep me warm, this I know
 
You are the brilliant blue skies after the rain
You are the echo of love over the plains
 
Let your sacred love surround my heart
And say from me you will never part
 
Deliver me from all of my darkest fears
Bringing an end to this rainscape of tears
 
Your footsteps I will follow till the end of time
You can place your love in this heart of mine
 
I pray dear Lord my soul to keep
Where still waters run ever deep
