The Song Goes On

The Song Goes On

A woman who watches and a man who looks

That's you and me

Lightning strikes the candles that we lit

There is more that we can see

More about light, the stars and feels of night

Encumbered

A small, brief moment of doubt just can't impede

What will happen

As all our words come together in song

We whisper and we sing along

Versions and nuances in our ballad occur

But, we do not stray too far from the original

Dinner ends...

The song goes on when we leave the table

We cannot hear it but, our hearts keep time

There is more to reason than to rhyme

We were different when we met ages ago

The story we wrote pages ago

Hasn't changed

Even with the differences we had, the endings we had

We still see this world in the same light

Corrosion's abound, there is corruption all around

Yet, here we are

More is afoot, more than the light we make

More than the sky

We knew all along that we were meant to be

A woman who watches and a man who looks

That's you and me

Lightning strikes the candles that we lit

Enough for the world to see
