THE OVERDUE LIBRARY BOOK

He went to the library for a particular book
Took it home to give it a read and a look
Days passed and he forgot the book was there
The book now hidden behind his long tall chair

The days became months it was now December
Something he saw on TV made him remember
What happened to that book he got in June
Need to find it quickly and really very soon

He hunted and finally the book came into view
Cursing to himself he forgot this book to renew
Off to the library in the cold and frosty snow
How much was the fine I would like to know
