The Passion And The Pain

So many years ago I met you, when I thought my heart had died;

For oft times it had been broken, and often it had cried!

But when it met yours, it felt the passion, that never had it found;

And our souls then joined together, forever to be bound!

Nine years later, there came another, with  whom we both shared all our love;

An angel we named “Nico”, sent down from stars above!

It took not long for us to realize, he was both our soulmates too;

An “iron clad triumvirate”, our Nico, me, and you!

Fifteen joy filled years have passed, and so has our little mate;

For we lost him fifteen months ago, on exactly this very date!

Now the passion that you taught me, has turned to unknown pain;

And my heart lies torn wide open, as my tears bring endless rain!

I write of him each day now, for it alleviates my depths’ despair;

For daily I still look for him, but he’s no longer there!

You brought to me the passion, he brought to me the pain;

But someday up in Heaven, we’ll all join souls again!
