The Peasant

The Peasant

Someone who lives right out in the 'sticks' or similar,
devoid of culture, I've been there, said it didn't matter;
now, there's nothing wrong with beautiful countryside,
but narrow perception may fall slightly short and wide.

There was a revolt in the old days but not much change,
because an aerial on a gypsy caravan may be out of range;
we all rely on agriculture for our food, that's not forgot,
nevertheless, some people shouldn't pretend who they're not.

Devolved nations have their pride but may not be enough,
some people are best at being disrespectfully rough;
however, we have to tolerate anyone being a parvenu,
it could be us but more likely to be someone like you.

So let's move on, we know that any of us can go far,
but in hindsight, it's best to remember just who you are.
