The Perfect Body? (Poem about poor body image)

The Perfect Body? (Poem about poor body image)

Too fat    ....  Too thin
Too ugly    .... too plain
Too spotty .... too pale
Too broken.... too  frail
Too many   ....too few
Too flawed  ....too scored
Too crazy   …   too sane
Too everything…

I want ….  full lips
I want …   slim hips
I want …   blue eyes
I want …  long thighs
I want…   teeth white
I want …  eyes bright
I want …  smooth skin
I want what I can never see
I want to learn to love just me

I need to be more muscle bound
I need to be more tall than round
I need to have a head of hair
I need to learn how not to care!

Very insightful and profoundly apropos for these past 100 years in American & European standardization of what sells product in a capitalist society!!...... the trickle down effect SUCKS!!..... but many would argue that there are 'two sides to every coin'!!...... brilliantly controversial write!!...... well done STEVIE!!... later.....T xo ?✳✴♥☀?♥

You have hit the nail right on the head Tony! some would say that  there is a price to pay for the 'benefits' of  a Capitalist society....  and that is seeing lovely people disatisfied  with  themselves it's so sad... Pleased you liked it- cheers pal!
