The Poet

The poet sits atop a hill
His eyes reflect the world around him
Still yet constantly moving
The sunlight dancing through
The leaves like old friends.
Does he see the world as we do?
No
His eyes see deeper than ours do,
See past our distractions and
Our limitations.
He is free, yet just as caged as
the rest of us.

Blessed are the weird people--the poets and misfits. Writers, mystics, painters, and troubadours. For they force us to view our world through different eyes.

Nice writing, Bella.

I really enjoyed this poem. I wrote a poem once, called The Hill of Poetry.

But it's funny that I was just about to share another poem I wrote, entitled, "The Poe"t, as well. Then I saw this, and thought to read yours first, before I share mine :)

I love this, it speaks as a truth which i don't think many poets would argue with.
