The Prank

This is a true story that took place 30 years ago today on January 25, 1992.

A man made a mistake when he placed a personal ad.
The outcome of the situation was painful and it was sad.
A beautiful woman answered his ad and he felt wonderful because he thought she would be his girlfriend.
But when she and her friend answered the ad, they weren't serious, it was just pretend.
She told him she had a boyfriend and when she and her friend answered the ad, it was a prank.
When she told him what they did, it hurt him and she and her friend certainly received no thanks.
They sent a picture of her with the letter they wrote.
He wasn't happy, he felt like he was in a sinking boat.
She was laughing but when she saw how upset he became, she apologized.
When it came to how he felt about the prank, it was something he despised.
He told her that she and her friend were cruel and he hung up the phone.
It was devastating and he ended up suffering and he continued to be alone.
