The Queen's Gambit

The Queen's Gambit

the game
is played
In my head

the moves
are determined
by words spoken
facial expressions
and what is left
unsaid

the board
is constructed
with a warrior's
intent
a battleground
to human behavior

Make your move
the bishop
will bow
to my direction
a knight of
deception
will turn
the table
to the Queen's Gambit
forcing the
opponent
to involuntarily
Resignation

Being Me

I don't play chess but I have been told it is a good game to learn as it teaches you strategy. From what I can gather, life is not like a box of chocolates it is like a game of chess x
