" THE QUEEN OF POETRY "

Feebly, she climbed the garden stairs
Leaving her breathless as she turned to compare
The sudden thought that pounced
Like a full-blown, blood red rose
That she had left at the base of these aged stairs...
Ah!, she grimaced, why would one affright a feeble soul
A poet, weak with the myths and legends of old
Enunciating a gentler speak, to intimidate
Those who would listen to her senility berate
The chartreuse literary minds plotting after her gold...
Yet, in her finest moments of churchyard clarity
She would climb these garden stairs so easily
And recite pristine beauty to the fairy's and bumble-bees
So enticing were her words that shadow men hid among the trees
Recording her poetic philosophy for the golden-ages posterity...
Feebly, she climbed the library stairs of Alexandria
Where the light from her face collected a life-long panacea
Allowing her the youth of her life's words, momentarily
She turned and spoke to the bookshelves of her life's beauty
And smiled at the garden's stairs, where she died quietly
Surrounded by a lifetime's
Imaginings...

Hi Β I Β love this story of the "The Queen of Poetry "
the place where she recited poetry the arduousΒ
climb of the stairs now that she is old, where whenΒ
she was young could climb so easily
until her death these lines so beautiful
"Allowing her the youth of her life's words, momentarily
She turned and spoke to the bookshelves of her life's beauty
And smiled at the garden's stairs, where she died quietly
Surrounded by a lifetime's
Imaginings..."

Hi Dear Poetic Brother Tony,
They say that before one dies, their whole life flashes before their eyes.Β What has just "flashed before my eyes", is a brilliantly written illustration of that theory.Β Bravo!
