The Quiet Hours of the Soul without the lilies bright

The Quiet Hours of the Soul without the lilies bright

Upon the dark and lonely nights
without the morning sun and the lilies bright,
my soul tells me secrets only I can hear,
for this is a place no one knows, no one can enter
   a place so mine.
Night, be my guide when the light grows dim
where I fled the morning sun to be from one place to another
   to calm the restless mind.
The only witness is the mist in the window.
It’s here, in this valley of solitude in Self-revealing time,
   I converse with my soul.
Here no one can enter, as no one can know.
When the morning sun greets me again and I see the lilies bright,
I know there is a place I can go
when the dark hours of my soul again call,
that place so quiet, those hours so mine.

Sparrowsong, my lovely bird!!! Are you speaking literally? are you really
being hit by Hurricane Francine? I saw it on the news. How tragic!

'To converse with my soul'
'solitude in Self revealing time,' ...

you get it too B.. how the night comforts.
Beautiful soulful lines and a wonderfully soothing read and I love your use of lillies.
Know that when you are conversing with your soul I am conversing with mine on the other side of the world my friend. Hugs X

Much appreciated, once again. Hi Tina, I love when you share your thoughts. So, you think this piece has a “beautiful expression”, thank you for saying that, I had so much in my head that I was wondering if I could express it on paper, I think quite a bit stayed on the head. Well, the other bit is out, at least. Stay well, Poet, have a good weekend,  B

You said something very beautiful here, Neville. I think you had music on
your fingers when you wrote this. Bernadete says she appreciates more
than very much.

Hi Bernadete, what a beautiful poem, so soft, and sweet. My favorite line is:
"The only witness is the mist in the window".
Gorgeous writing, my friend!

Matthew.
