The Rainbow

The Rainbow

I never heard the rainbow
as it crept into the sky.
Triumphant bouts of silence
unveiled the beauty high.

I failed to sense the magic
each raindrop would portray
when clouds had ceased all anger
forgave the light of day.

Meak and tender orphan
such urge to run and hide
afraid to face the darkness
all faith was cast aside.

Unseen was blissful brightness
that through the tunnel lay.
Untampered beauty. Plenty.
Beyond the vast dismay.

I never heard the rainbow
yet right before my eyes
the greatest depths of darkness
bequeathed the purest sky.
