THE RAVEN AND THE CROW AND THE ROOSTER

The moon is full as church clock stirkes midnight,
And the church bells ring as midnight mass begins
The poor souls sit in church and listen to the priest
Say his sermon as children choir sings I BELIEVE,The
Raven flys from grave to grave and the crow CROWS
In the midnight moon,The priest says the red wine you drinkĀ
Is the blood of Jesus ,The moon shines on the river
As the crow flys from grave to grave and the raven
CROWS at theĀ midnight moon,And the priest says let all pray for
all the poor souls in the world. As midnight mass ends
The poor souls walk the graves and the raven and the crow
flys away,In a far off distances a rooster CROWS to midnight.Ā

Dear Greg,
Midnight brings the poor to Mass
The people of the lowest class
But they have wealth that the rich can't share
For their love of God is beyond compare
Love,
Larry xxx
thank you Larry
Superb all round Greg great writing festooned with a wealth of dark imagery.
Like the blackest spider's web pulling a reader in to be captured and captivated in equal measure.
Love to read a dark one that's just done right and your poem delivers.
Thanks for sharing and full honours and not forgetting five(if only) dark stars.

Shaun This is one of my favorites
this poem If I was to make this my favorite of all times yes
Greg glad to hear you too love the dark ones also and I can see why this is one of your favourites.
And that Halloween one for you I'll have to retitle from 13 to 20 Dark Tales if I can cram them in.
And there is more mischief, murder and mayhem in writing a dark one, much more imaginative fun and va va voom than one about flower arranging!
