The reunion .......a sentimental story of love by Jude kyrie

He was so old now
Where had the years gone bye?
Faster than a deer he thought.
The glow from the old cottage fire
was warm and cozy.
He would talk to Abby
Even though he knew
She was no longer with him.
Her arm chair sat untouched
After all the years of her passing.
He would tell her of the children
The grandchildren
All the news as he drank his tea.
The fire was burning high
winter was a time to use
his seasoned maple wood.
The red coals the beautiful
Aroma of the hardwood.
The warmth eased
his aching old bones.
He fell asleep in the comfort
whispering goodnight Abby my love.
In his dream she appeared before him.
So very young and beautiful.
So much what he needed.
Dance with me my love she purred
He stood up and took her in his arms
They shared a kiss
a kiss he had ached for
For so very long.
He looked at himself
He was handsome
young and strong.
She took his hand
And softly said
come with me my love.
He turned to look
at the frail old man
sat in the chair.
As if sleeping.
You do not need it anymore
She whispered to him.
As they walked together
over the clouds
Along a glowing pathway
to a beautiful garden
Where the sun never sets.
