The Right Thing

Let's take a journey back a year
To the time where we started this career
No person to love, nobody to lustÂ
Nobody there to break your trust
Think back to our friend, the one who's been there
The one who was when nobody cared
Who helped you walk to get where you are
Who broke down in tears in the quiet of your car
Picture the words picture the lies
Picture the hurt picture those eyes
Relationship failing the family is bailingÂ
The weight has been measured to much to be scaling
Get wrapped in the ego buy a pint of gin
Drink til the drool drips down your chin
You walk and you talk back to your room
The support that they give feels weak and with gloom
You lie on your back and you feel a hard smack
A forceful press of the lips as you start to lose grip
Your hand has been taken, no sense of control
You freeze as you think of the person you stole
Guilt fears your soul, hurt fills the hole
You try not think as your friendship sinksÂ
Do you tell their lover? Do you hold it all in?
You don't you just play along with a grin
In fear of this sin this stabbing pin
Patience is running thin and you feel guilt taking over again
You know it's your fault, you could have fought back
But you went along with it as your thoughts fell to black
Just because liquor was a factor in this hap
Doesn't make you feel any less like crapÂ
